Always use your headlights, even during the day. Visibility is key on wooded trails and open areas.

Keep to the right side of the trail. Anticipate oncoming traffic, especially around blind corners.

Learn and use standard hand signals to communicate with other riders in your group and on the trail.

Carry emergency supplies, extra layers, and a first-aid kit. Conditions can change rapidly in the wilderness.
